Come heckle us at NTC!

Hey there!

Are you coming to this year’s Nonprofit Technology Conference?

We are heading to Minneapolis this week and we’d love to say hello!

LIVE in Minneapolis: Benchmarks 2013 @ NTC!

The Nonprofit Technology Conference is just one week away! And if you’re going to be there, don’t miss our session on the 2013 eNonprofit Benchmarks Study. It will have adventure, excitement, thrills, and chills — and an in-depth look at the key numbers and trends affecting online fundraising and advocacy. Mostly that last part.

We’ll be in Marquette I on Friday, 4/12 from 1:30 – 3:00pm for the 2013 eNonprofit Benchmarks session. If for some inexplicable reason you have to miss the best session of 13NTC, definitely join my colleagues Michael Ward and Madeline Stanionis right afterward in the hallway outside the Grande Ballroom, where they’ll be serving up serving up root beer floats! Root beer floats and data!

If you won’t be at NTC this year, all is not lost. You can still join the online Benchmarks webinar on April 23rd for another chance to dive deeper into the numbers and the stories behind the numbers. Either way, here’s how you can get the most out of the discussion.

Benchmarks Supplement: All the Stats That Didn’t Fit in Print

I hope you’re enjoying the 2013 eNonprofit Benchmarks Study! We spent a lot of time writing that thing, so much that now we dream about open rates and standard deviations and Facebook virality metrics, and when we wake up we start designing charts that track the contents of our dreams, and then we dream about those charts. Our families are starting to worry.

But it’s all worth it, because we love Benchmarks, and we love bringing you the most comprehensive, relevant and useful data on nonprofit fundraising and advocacy online. In fact, we couldn’t stop at just one indispensable Benchmarks study (which you can download at e-benchmarksstudy.com) or even a single irresistible infographic.

And thus the 2013 Benchmarks Supplement was born. We hope you enjoy this paragon of data and design that’s just chock full of everything (else) you wanted to know about online programs for nonprofits. Check it out here:

The 2013 eNonprofit Benchmarks Study: Your Annual Dose of Data

You can feel the excitement buzzing in the air, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time for the annual eNonprofit Benchmarks Study.

Along with our friends at NTEN, we crunched data on email, fundraising, advocacy, social media, and mobile from 55 of the nation’s leading nonprofits. What came out is the one and only indispensable guide to what’s happening online for nonprofits.

So what is happening online for nonprofits? Here’s a taste: (more…)

A few of our favorite things

With all due respect to Maria Von Trapp, she can keep her raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. When it comes to M+R Research Labs, our favorite things are the most useful, shareable, likeable, tweetable posts. So we’ve taken a look back at our stats for 2012 (this is Research Labs, after all — we don’t pour milk on our cereal without checking the stats first) and pulled together the most popular posts of the year.

Here are a few of your — and our — favorite things. Plus bonus song lyrics at the end. Happy New Year!
